Rebecca Cummins explores the sculptural, experiential and sometimes humorous possibilities of light, optics, and natural phenomena in installations that have included a machine for making rainbows, a photographic rifle, sun and moon pointers, paranoid dinner-table devices, microscopy, mushroom spore prints, and a variety of sculptural and photographic approaches to marking time. She has exhibited widely internationally and is active in public commissions, cross-disciplinary collaborations, and artist residencies. She is a recent Professor Emerita after 24 years in the University of Washington School of Art, following 16 years at the University of Sydney, Australia.
Lectures on art and art-related topics are offered on a regular basis. Sponsored by the Art Committee.
