Much of this work is from the Kilpisjärvi Biological Research station, north of the Arctic Circle near the 3 country border with Finland, Norway and Sweden. Work was recorded from 2014-2019 and some work edited later.

Work from October 2022 residency in Vadsø on the Veranger Peninsula, along the Varangerfjord and the Barents Sea in Northeast Norway. Work will be added, and the order of pieces will change as well. Some work might be streaming tests.

Super 8 films from 1983-88 using mag stripe film, piezo disks & other self-built mics. Many converted to HD - more on on the way. S8 SD Transfers to 3/4" and Beta SP by Brodsky & Treadway. Some masters have been lost due to "sticky shed syndrome."

Several of these also engaged live performance. Couple more films on the way....

Recorded in 1989, Yamanote is a 3 monitor installation/documentary/acoustic ecology piece. The 29 STATIONS play in order. ARRIVING/LEAVING and OUTSIDE play randomly, but here,only one iteration is present.

For many years, I have been recording sound and video from the Borderlands between Mexico and US. These pieces have been used in installations and performances. The most recent was recorded in January, 2018.

In 1994, I first recorded at DV. After multiple cancers in 2002-03, I began to record audio/video there in each of the 12 months. DV Cycle is a series of 4 installation pieces and this one plays 31 excerpts randomly. Further details in PDF.

These were gathered from 1989 - 1996 using video 8 and Digital Video. Sound was gathered using piezo disks alone, or in combination with other self-built microphones.

All work recorded north of Murmansk, Russia while in the Barents Sea and the Arctic Ocean.

Pieces recorded in a Rice Paddy, Sado Island, Japan (using video 8), a Corn Field, Hesselt, the Netherlands (using Hi-8) and a Wheat Field, Waddell, Arizona (using Digital video).

Travelon Gamelon was composed in 1978 for amplified bicycles. The concert version is for 3 bicycles turned upside down. The Promenade version is for bicycles and riders. For this work, I designed and built pickup devices and amplifiers.

Three short pieces followed by one 45 minute piece of a Tibetan Oracle Reading. All were recorded in December, 2000. We were invited to the Oracle Reading in a private shrine in the village of Minji.

Super8 from Australia, NZ and Bali from 1986 & work from 1988 was filmed on a Guggenheim exploring my family leaving Poland & traveling around the Horn. In 1989, Mona Higuchi & I created work in Chile about Los Desaparecidos for Amnesty Intl.

All use microphone/objects with piezo materials as sound inputs. These have been transcoded from SD to HD. All tapes were baked to cure 'sticky shed syndrome.' Other pieces did not fare so well.

These may be different compression studies. And, once I am satisfied, they will be moved into an existing or new playlist. Some older work may also be swapped out for more recent work. RL
