For her high school video production class Olivia recorded her thoughts and observations on the topic of poverty. "I have lived in a part of Kalamazoo where poverty is pretty normal and normalized. She describes a school friend she had when she was younger who did not have much. "She didn't have clean socks or much food in her fridge. I gave her some of my lunch and cloths I didn't wear anymore and I always felt bad for her." Olivia says It's hard for children especially to understand that everyone comes from different circumstances.
