The KPS Board interviews 3 applicants to fill the Trustee position vacated by the resignation of Jermaine Jackson. The community members who will be interviewed and their interview times are: Juanita Yvonne Payton at 6 – Payton is a former KPS teacher, principal, and assistant superintendent of elementary schools. She is involved in numerous community organizations including Delta Sigma Theta sorority, Kalamazoo Links, Family Health Center and Kalamazoo Institute of Arts. Bobby Boyd at 6:45 – Boyd is active in several community organizations, including the Metropolitan Kalamazoo Branch of the NAACP, the Kalamazoo Community Foundation, and Southwest Michigan First. He is a Kalamazoo native with extensive experience across private, public, local, and federal sectors. Alicia Swift at 7:30 – Swift works for the State of Michigan and has a background in public health. She has held leadership roles in several community organizations including Rootead Enrichment Center, the Northside Association for Community Development and Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.
