In this episode, Larry talks with Dr. Gary Moreno, ACC History Professor and El Centro Director. They discuss his passion for history and the importance of telling stories about those who are underrepresented and underserved in our history books plus why he believes in a soft deadline policy and engaging students in areas they find intriguing for deep dive projects. We meet April Garcia, ACC Studio Art & Mexican Studies Student, who talks about her bond with Dr. Moreno over fashion, art, and creativity in the classroom and how they were able to collaborate at El Centro utilizing her many artistic talents.
