An Evening of Poetry with May Street Writers April 10, 2026

Merrill Memorial Library Presented an evening of live poetry readings featuring Maine-based poets of the group May Street Writers. This event was emceed by the fabulous poet and high school English teacher, Marita O’Neill. About May Street Writers: Every Thursday evening, the May Street Readers gather at Zanne Langlois’ apartment on May Street in Portland. Zanne is a poet and high school English teacher. After sharing some potluck dinner and raucous stories about our weeks, we write anywhere from 2-3 poems based on prompts that group members have brought. It is an empowering experience to write in community and share this writing journey with one another. April 10, 2026
