Using & Growing Medicinal Plants April 11, 2026
Have you been considering using herbal remedies and want to learn about plants that are safe, easy to grow and use? In this session presented at Merrill Memorial Library, we will discussed ten foundational herbs and ways that you can prepare medicines and teas in your home for every season of the year. You will gain a better understanding of some essential herbal remedies, how to prepare them, and a resource list to explore herbal medicines further. Speaker Cathleen Miller is a Community Herbalist based in Scarborough at Sanctuary Healing Gardens, where she stewards the land and tends a wide range of gardens with medicinal perennials, annuals, and foods. Cathleen studied with Maia Toll, Deb Soule, Mary Blue, Fredda Paul, Phyllis Light, Emily Ruff, and many other herbalists. She has been teaching about herbal medicine since 2012.
