In this episode, Larry talks with Dr. Mario Aguilar, ACC Paralegal Associate Professor, who has taught at Austin Community College for 20 years while also working as a legal professional in our community for 25+ years. As an immigrant who came to America at a young age, Dr. Aguilar received a scholarship to Cornell University and then attended The University of Texas at Austin for his law degree. Additionally, we meet Aaron Bir, a non-traditional ACC student in Dr. Aguilar’s class, who started at the college after moving to Austin via New York. As a career changer diving into the paralegal field, he discusses how he’s been able to thrive coming back to school. He hopes to attend law school after ACC, following Dr. Aguilar’s path.
