Boston & Maine Public Relations Photographic Collection by Rick Kfoury at the June 2023 470 Railroad Club Membership Meeting June 21, 2023

Rick Kfoury is a railroad author & historian and currently serves as the VP and the newsletter editor for the B&M Historical Society. He has written 4 books on NE railroad history and has strong interests regarding the B&M short line operations in New Hampshire. Rick will be presenting pictures from B&M's Public Relations photographic collection, portraying everything that Boston & Maine wanted its employees, and the general public, to see. Taken mainly between 1944 and 1963, the collection includes special trains and events, new equipment and customers, infrastructure projects, elected presidents, employees - it's all covered. Many pictures were taken by the B&M's official Public Relations photographer himself, George H. Hill. Some photos were staged, some were natural. All of them detail the Boston & Maine in the midtwentieth century; a key moment in its history when optimism, pride, change, and storm clouds all brewed for the “Route of the Minuteman.” Rick also works seasonally as a brakeman & conductor for the Winnipesaukee Scenic Railroad
