Event held April 9, 2018

The Needham Diversity Initiative hosted a program at Eliot Elementary School entitled: "Race, Sports and Protest: A Community Conversation." Among the speakers were Bill Littlefield, host of NPR/WBUR's "It's Only a Game," William "Smitty" Smith, Executive Director of the National Center for Race Amity at Wheelock College, as well as Needham resident Jim Hirsch, author of books such as "Willie Mays: The Life, The Legend" and "Hurricane: The Miraculous Journey of Rubin Carter."
