Needham Channel coverage of the Needham Select Board meeting held at Town Hall on June 23, 2026.
The Needham Select Board met on June 23rd with several items on the agenda. Most notably, there was a follow-up Board discussion on the Appointment Process, this time with Town Council. There was also a Public Hearing regarding the Recycling and Tansfer Station User Fees and Charges as well as a Public Hearing regarding Stormwater By-Law Regulations and one about an Eversource Grant of Location at 78 Birds Hill Avenue. The Town Manager and Town Clerk discussed Alternative Polling Locations with Board Members. The Select Board also heard a presentation on Noise By-Law Policy. They also Set Water and Sewer Rates. Later on, the Town Manager had several items to go over, including an update on the Select Board's goals, some new developments on the Pollard Project as they get ready to finish the Schematic Design Phase, updating the list of Special Municipal Employees, and lastly her report. At the beginning of the meeting, Select Board Members also heard from residents during the Public Comment Period, regarding a rat problem and growing concern over road safety after a recent hit-and-run in town.
