City Council – Governing Body The City Council serves as the governing body of our city, vested with all the regulatory and corporate powers of a municipal corporation under South Carolina law. In general, City Council supervises the operations of city government by: Establishing policies and programs Appropriating funds for each department Providing oversight, with direct operational supervision carried out by the City Manager Membership & Structure The City Council consists of seven members.
