City of Aiken Update Fall 2025 Update

City Manager Stuart Bedenbaugh provides updates on major projects shaping Aiken’s future.
Highlights include the Shaws Creek Water Treatment Plant, the first phase of the Powderhouse Connector Road, new downtown development on Newberry Street NW, proposals for city-owned parcels including the former Hotel Aiken site, and improvements at Aiken Towne Park. The update also addresses discolored water and recognizes the IT and Public Services Departments for earning the Municipal Achievement Award from the Municipal Association of South Carolina.
