Fitchburg officials addressed several major issues this week, including the appointment of Steffani Santiago to the School Committee, the future of the city’s trash program and the ongoing debate over a proposed trash fee.

The City Council also failed to override Mayor Squailia’s veto of a City Clerk pay increase, leaving the veto in place.
