Massachusetts Education Commissioner Pedro Martinez visited Fitchburg’s new Crocker Elementary School last week to tour classrooms, meet with students and educators, and learn more about the district’s educational initiatives.
The visit highlighted the city’s $76 million investment in its first new school building in 25 years, a state-of-the-art facility serving nearly 800 students. Local leaders showcased the school’s award-winning energy efficiency and environmentally sustainable design, and innovative learning spaces, while emphasizing the long-term impact the project will have on generations of Fitchburg students. The tour provided state education officials with a firsthand look at how Fitchburg Public Schools is investing in modern learning environments and student success.
