Speaking of Art Sue Taves
Updated 26 days ago

Sue Taves is a professional stone sculptor who approaches her work as a collaboration with nature. Each piece begins with the unique character of a stone, and she approaches carving as a process of discovery, revealing forms inspired by patterns of nature. Her sculptures are created for homes, gardens, and public spaces where light, weather, and surroundings become part of the experience. At her studio on Whidbey Island, Sue transforms stone into sculptures that invite us to slow down and see the beauty and story held within natural forms. Two of her sculptures can be viewed now at Horizon House, thanks to the generosity of Brenda Mallett.
