7. July 2026 Traffic Committee Resolutions Holly Donoghue, P.E.
a. Traffic Committee Proposed Resolution to the City Commission:
Be it resolved, the city commission hereby approves the traffic committee’s recommendation to amend the committee bylaws Section II to state, “The purpose of this committee is to review proposed traffic regulations, traffic safety, and residential parking issues for users of all ages, abilities and modes as established by the City of Royal Oak, City Code of Ordinances Chapter 39, Article VI. The committee shall

comply with all Federal, state and local laws,” and to share this information on the city’s website as outlined in agenda item 5a.
b. Traffic Committee Resolution to the City Commission:
Be it resolved, the city commission hereby approves the traffic committee’s recommendation to install a 25-mph speed limit sign for westbound Albert Avenue near Woodward Avenue, to relocate the “no parking” signs near the Royalwood Co- Op driveways to improve sight distance for exiting vehicles, and to direct staff to develop a preliminary speed hump design and share this with the Royalwood Co-Op and Brownstones of Royal Oak boards as outlined in agenda item 6a.
c. Traffic Committee Proposed Resolution to the City Commission
Be it resolved, the city commission hereby approves the traffic committee’s recommendation to install “No Parking Beyond” and “No Parking this Side of Sign” signs at the two offset intersections of Ardmore Avenue and Parkdale Avenue, such that vehicles cannot park within the intersections or within at least 15 feet of the intersection corner property lines, as outlined in agenda item 6b.
d. Traffic Committee Proposed Resolution to the City Commission:
Be it resolved, the city commission hereby approves the traffic committee’s recommendation to install “No Parking Beyond” sign at the northeast corner of W. Fourth Street and Hendrie Boulevard approximately 30 feet east of the crosswalk, and to install “Cross Traffic Does Not Stop” signs on the two stop signs at this intersection, as outlined in agenda item 6c.
e. Traffic Committee Proposed Resolution to the City Commission:
Be it resolved, the city commission hereby approves the traffic committee’s recommendation to deny the request for installation of four bollards in the public right- of-way at the southeast corner of N. Main Street and E. Farnum Avenue, and to plant a tree in the empty tree grate at this location if feasible as outlined in agenda item 6d.
