Explore the dynamic roles of neuroplasticity and present-moment awareness in building resilience to stress, anxiety, and depression. Drawing from a wide body of research and the speaker’s personal experience, this program shares how evidence-based Mindfulness and Positive Psychology can transform our response to stress, address low mood, and help prevent depression. According to the 2023 Healthy Kids CO Survey and the 18-25 year old Survey, mental health among Middle and High School youths has improved since 2021. However, more than a third of the youths often still experience sadness, hopelessness, and unmanageable stress. Leveraging insights from brain development across different life stages – from childhood through adolescence to adulthood – you will learn practical tools that, when practiced regularly, help you reshape your response to stress and navigate the pressures of modern life. The insights will empower you with knowledge and evidence-based techniques to foster resilience and optimism, ultimately enhancing your overall mental well-being and that of your loved ones. Youths 12 years and older, young adults, parents, grandparents, caregivers, educators, and anyone concerned with the mental health challenges in our valley, are invited to attend. Join in this community conversation - as much or as little as you are comfortable with. About Jeannette Schulze Mindfulness and Positive Psychology Teacher and Integrative Nutrition Health Coach Born and raised in Berlin, East Germany, Jeannette developed a passion for languages, cultures, and connecting with people from an early age. After the Berlin Wall fell, she moved to London, where she spent seven years building a robust foundation in international luxury hotel and hospitality management. Her career took her to Miami, Hong Kong, New York, and Washington DC, before she and her English husband, Nathon, settled in the Rocky Mountains. With over 30 years of experience in coaching and mentoring within the hospitality industry and experiencing firsthand how the ever-increasing pace of modern life has resulted in the prevalence of stress and depression in people of all ages, Jeannette shifted her focus to helping individuals lead healthier, more fulfilling lives. She studied evidence-based mindfulness and Positive Psychology, earning a diploma in Teaching Mindfulness and Positive Psychology from the Irish Mindfulness Academy in Dublin. She is also a candidate for the January 2025 Certification in Health & Wellness Coaching at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in New York City. Residing in Eagle with her husband, 13-year-old son, and three rescues from the Eagle County Animal Shelter, Jeannette is deeply grateful to be part of this amazing community of supportive, open-minded, and adaptable human beings. She cherishes the opportunity to live in such a beautiful place and is dedicated to fostering well-being and resilience in others with her grounding energy, compassion, and heartfulness.
