Voices Uniting Everyone | Featuring Adjunct Professor Felecia Williams and Yesenia Ruiz Colchado
“VUE” – Voices Uniting Everyone – is hosted by Larry Davis, Vice Chancellor of Belonging and Purpose at Austin Community College and Dr. LaKisha Barrett, ACC Biology Associate Professor. In this episode, Larry and Kisha learn about criminal justice programs at ACC with Criminal Justice Adjunct Professor, Felecia Williams, and current student, Yesenia Ruiz Colchado. Felecia discusses her role in the Austin Police Department for 26 years before joining ACC and why she chose this important and impactful line of work. As someone who graduated from ACC and who is now a professor in the program, she loves teaching students from high school to retirees about critical thinking and building relationships in the community they will serve. Professor Williams’ student, Yesenia, talks about her goal to become a lawyer to help those underserved in our community and her involvement with the criminal justice student club.
