Voices Uniting Everyone | Featuring Rosa Carrasco and Jack Meismer, Advanced Manufacturing

In this episode, Larry and Kisha learn about advanced manufacturing and the semiconductor field at ACC with Rosa Carrasco, ACC Engineering Technology Assistant Department Chair and her student, Jack Meismer, ACC Advanced Manufacturing Student. Rosa discusses her professor tips for student success! She likes to use hardcopy packets with work that she and her students do in class versus lectures with slides, she records all her classes for students to rewatch afterwards, and she highlights the importance of the free tutoring available to students at ACC. Jack shares his story, which involved switching from pursuing a nursing degree into advanced manufacturing because of his lifelong interests in helping people and building things. He shares his knowledge with fellow students as a tutor. Both Rosa and Jack talk about the thriving semiconductor manufacturing industry and the opportunities it provides as an exciting, well-compensated future career right here in Central Texas.
