Cumberland Historical Society Presents: "Donald MacMillan, Arctic Explorer" with Mary Morton, a Maine native and author living in Cumberland.

Donald MacMillan, a Bowdoin graduate, spent 50 years exploring The Arctic. He played a vital role in Robert Peary’s 1908-1909 North Pole Expedition. Donald then led several important expeditions, pioneering the use of radio and aircraft in exploration. Please join as Mary Morton Cowan presents a slide presentation that focuses on Donald’s long and distinguished career. Mary will include details about his Arctic Schooner Bowdoin, which is now Maine’s official state vessel.
