Needham Channel coverage of the Needham Planning Board meeting held at the Public Services Administration Building on July 28, 2026.

The Needham Planning Board met on July 28th with several items on the agenda. They started the meeting with reviewing the minutes of previous meetings while they waited for presenters. The Planning Board held a Public Hearing for the Major Project Site Plan Review Special Permit regarding the Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital’s request to construct a new valet surface parking lot at 14 and 20 Oak St in Needham. They also discussed a De Minimus Change to a Major Project Site Plan Special Permit regarding the Hospital’s other request to modify the arrangement of the parking spaces at 148 Chestnut St in Needham which was not a part of the public hearing. The Board, however, held another Public Hearing for an Amendment to Major Project Site Plan Review Special Permit regarding The Hickory Club’s request for the operation of a private membership-based indoor golf and performance club at the location of 117 Kendrick St in Needham. The Planning Board later went over the Correspondence before discussing the Large House Zoning Regulatory Framework. This included the Building Height Requirements and the Half Story Floor Area Requirements in the Single Residence B District. Board Members had initially begun presenting their reports at the start of their meeting but finished presenting them at the end before they adjourned.
