It was an evening dedicated to five of the eleven articles on the Special Town Meeting warrant, but one issue took center stage for the majority of the evening. Article 5 shapes the immediate future of the Stephen Palmer Building as the town prepares to take back the property at the end of a land lease, scheduled to happen in May of 2027. The question of how to address the current residential leases as that deadline approaches caused confusion, consternation and created a lively conversation on the Town Meeting floor.
