Action Item: Minor Site Plan and Shoreland Zoning Permit, Earthwork and Grading Associated with the Removal of the Bridge Street Dam, Town of Yarmouth, Applicant
The Town of Yarmouth is requesting review of a Minor Site Plan and Shoreland Zoning Permit
associated with the removal of the Bridge Street Dam within the Royal River. While the
removal of the dam and the associated structures do not trigger a review, the earthwork
on the banks of the Royal River require review under Chapter 702, Site Plan Review, and
Chapter 701, Article IV.I, Resource Protection District. The earthwork will occur within the
Shoreland Overlay District (SOD), General Development District, and Resource Protection
Zone. The overall project is intended to remove the dam and its associated fishways and
structures and will result in 1,208 square feet of grading at significant depth within the
Resource Protection District, which also meets the threshold for Site Plan Review. The Board
may vote on this item after public comment is received.
