In 2023, Adam Castle had a vision for a business—he just needed a little help cultivating it. Through Can-Do Kalamazoo's business classes, personalized plan-building, and entrepreneurial resources, Adam transformed this idea into Green Man Gardening, a thriving business rooted in sustainability, food security, and community well-being. Today, Green Man Gardening (GMG) helps people improve their food security, local environment, & personal/family well-being by starting or strengthening their home harvests & ecosystems through consultation, design, 1:1 coaching, installation, & maintenance services for raised bed kitchen gardens, foodscapes, & native plant landscapes. GMG's service is rooted in our environmentally-friendly gardening practices, serving 10 counties in West and Southwest Michigan. Adam's story is just one example of the many entrepreneurs that Can-Do Kalamazoo has empowered to transform their ideas into successful ventures, strengthening our communities in the process. This video was made possible with support from the Harold and Grace Upjohn Foundation.
This program helps nonprofits tell stories that work for good — stories that educate, engage, and empower people to care, connect, and act.
