Here are the highlights from the April 25, 2024 Comstock Charter Township Planning Commission meeting. The meeting opened with a public hearing wherein the board approved a special use exception for Jennifer Dodge who is relocating her day care business to 1413 Verleen Street. FIre Department Chief Beauchamp answered the invite to address questions regarding the potential battery facility project, the possible dangers, and emergency response strategies. Both the Commision and the department recognize the need for further discussion about the future of this initiative. The Planning Commission is in a critical position to set standards as the appropriate ordinances are written to address and accommodate these new and developing businesses. Sample Wind and Solar regulations and potential zoning text amendments were also reviewed in continuing business.
