Public Media Network’s Frank Jamison Fellowship looks for talented storytellers, journalists, and filmmakers for a competitive program designed to strengthen their professional skills. The Frank Jamison Fellowship that ended in December, 2024, included writer Sarah Horton, who interviewed area craftswoman Morgan Pell. Sarah worked with Lem Montero, PMN’s content director, to create a short video showcasing Morgan’s unique style of handmade brooms and whisks. Thanks to the nature of the Frank Jamison Fellowship, however, PMN was able to provide Sarah an additional opportunity by collaborating with Encore Magazine to create a written feature about Morgan for their April issue. “If we can provide a richer experience for someone, we’ll do it,” said Lem Montero. “We’d like people to leave the Frank Jamison Fellowship stronger than they came in. In Sarah’s case, we were able to coordinate with Encore Magazine, allowing her to further develop her journalism skills.” Look for Sarah’s piece on Morgan in the printed April 2025 issue of Encore Magazine or on their website, www.EncoreMagazine.com.
