The Board held a work session to review updates from the Downtown Development Authority and South Drake Authority with Planning Director Jodi Stefforia. The County Sheriff and Fire Departments updated the Board on recent emergency needs and crime statistics. The Fire Department focussed specifically on a recent traffic collision that cost Comstock Township use of a fire engine. As part of the MABAS program teh recently purchased Fire Engine #513 will be leased to Comstock Charter Township and can be recalled by Oshtemo if needed. In the Regular meeting the Board reviewed Capital Improvements Plans for the Downtown Development Authority, the South Drake Authority as well as the Maintenance Department with requests from Maintenance Director Greg Fountain. Attorney James Porter addressed a rising nuisance of false ordinance violations made against community members with the suggestion of establishing punitive consequences for harassment using township processes.
