Joe thinks humans tend to be poisoned by prejudice, fear and hatred. Back in the dark ages only the owning class people in charge decided what would happened. Then the Greeks developed the ideology of 'demos' meaning people and 'cretos' meaning power or rule, ie the Power of the People. Joe has observed that the facts have never mattered less than they do today. He says "Truth is dismissed in value, but truth should always matter most in a country fueled by democracy."
