Narrative Lab - Sharmese Anderson: My Friends with Disability Story
Updated 3 days ago

Founder and CEO of Friends with Disabilities talks about the power of knowing there is life after a diagnosis of a disability. When she was 35 years old Sharmese was diagnosed with a disease that caused her to suddenly become blind. She didn’t know what to do or what her purpose was and the shock of it all caused her to experience a deep depression. Through prayer, Sharmese experienced the voice of God telling her she needed to use her blindness to help people know that a disability does not define a person and that you are still you! In this video she talks about her blindness as a gift, allowing her to be the voice of people with disabilities.
