Scouting America—formerly known as the Boy Scouts of America—began welcoming girls back in 2018. For years, Framingham’s Troop 12 didn’t have enough scouts to create their own girls troop—until now. The group recently held their pancake breakfast to raise money for the troop, so that they can carry out service projects and activities. We spoke with Scoutmaster Blake Crowell about the importance of this milestone for both boys and girls—including his daughter Abbie, the first girl to crossover into the scouts proper.
