Short subject : Malden's Promise: 2014-10

On August 26th Malden’s Promise held a City wide coalition funded by a Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education grant to reduce the drop-out rate at Malden High School. Malden Public Schools co-hosted an innovative community wide Professional Development day. The purpose of this training was to bring a message of wellness to both school department staff as well as community members who work with youth. Typically, school Professional Development days are held by the school staff, for the school staff. However, this collaboration geared the training entitled “Creating a Culture of Wellness for Malden’s Youth” to an audience of community members alongside high school staff. Participation from the community was broad and included a number of Malden agencies, businesses and City departments.
